Recently, Spotify Premium brought some exciting updates in order to improve the experience of their users. One of the new features is "AI DJ" that taps artificial intelligence to generate custom playlists based on listening behavior. One other big addition is an expansion of the HiFi tier which now allows for high-resolution audio streaming at 24-bit/192 kHz. The new option is aimed at audiophiles and should deliver stronger sound quality for premium users by providing more detailed, crisper audio than the standard 320 kbps streaming. Initially available in limited markets, the HiFi tier has now expanded to over 40 countries including key regions like the US and UK.
The user interface of Spotify Premium has also been redesignedMostistream to increase its ease and accessibility. An improved home screen allows you to see what songs you have recently played and makes it easier for the app to recommend new music that should be on your radar. Data from user surveys suggest this redesign has driven a 25% increase in satisfaction and app engagement.
The new social features from the company will let users share their listening activity directly to platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. That update dropped in early 2024 and allowed users to share playlists, individual tracks you were currently listening, etc., helping promote more social usage of the service.
Spotify has also bolstered its "Collaborative Playlists" features that allows 20 users to share the same playlist at once. By doing so, Apple is looking to improve the group listening occasions as it seems this feature has been liked by its users who create and share playlists for parties or other events.
